National Teacher's Day (Part II)

Formalities dispensed with, National Teachers Day was also commemorated through song, dance, food and festivities at the teacher's party. In contrast to the austerity of the mornings speeches, this part of the day was relaxed and carefree, and everyone was in high spirits. A Lao-style meal was served alongside the Mekong river, and in addition to some excellent karaoke performed beautifully by some of the teachers, entertainment included a national folk dance of Laos, called the 'Lamvong', in which we took part. (see photo for my attempt at this!) It was a nice day, good fun was had by all!!
