Volunteers and Staff Take Weekend Getaways

Last weekend the volunteers were given a few days off  to go explore Laos or any of the surrounding Southeast Asian countries. 1 volunteer flew to Chiang Mai in Thailand to explore temples and do some boutique shopping. Another volunteer stayed in Laos but went on an intense 2 day trek through rice paddies and villages. 6 volunteers flew down to Siem Reap in Cambodia to explore the temples of Angkor Wat. 1 intern, 2 volunteers, 1 staff member and 1 former volunteer took a bumpy 6 hour bus ride to Vang Vieng to explore caves, tube down the Nam Song and bike to the Blue Lagoon. Everyone had a great weekend but we are all happy to be back in wet Luang Prabang. It is the rainy season which means we get a nice break from the heat and sunshine, the land is looking lush, the river is getting higher and the town is getting quieter.
