Monk School News.

It’s been the testing season over the last 2 weeks – testing the 600 students that we teach English to each week.

Last week, we had a practice go and this week it’s the real thing. Their marks are counted in their overall mark for the year.

There’s been a lot of papers to correct but it’s been worth it, mainly from my perspective – not so much from the students I expect. But from a teacher’s point of view, you get to see where the students’ strengths and weaknesses are.

I’ve realised in doing this testing, that there is quite a number of students across all 5 levels that are beginner learners in reading and writing English. It would help them if we were able to provide another class in the week to teach basic reading and writing skills.

They're so eager to learn, I'm sure we could get another class started.
